On this “all time classic” tour of Athens we visit the sacred Acropolis Hill and its 5th century B.C. architectural miracles. Learn about the Propilei – gateway to the shrine of Athena and explore the secrets of the great marble of Parthenon. The Erechtheon with its lovely Caryatids is a must for your photos. Next to the Acropolis, Mars Hill – the ancient high Court – remind us of the speech of St. Paul to the Athenians. In Athens, drive by the Stadium of the 1st Modern Olympics of 1896, see the temple of Olympian Zeus and the Arch of Hadrian. Syntagma or Constitution Square is the heart of the greek capital. In front of the Parliament stand the “Evzones” – guards wearing the traditional costumes. Pass by the central streets of Athens with its museums and see also the famous Athenian Trilogy, which consists of the Academy, the first Modern University and the marble National Library.
